Take your specimen elsewhere
This experimental bookmarklet drops your specimen onto whatever page you are reading. It goes to work on the page: it tears links out and files them in its ledger, bites words out of their lines and writes something new with them, and ploughs through paragraphs. Tap any word and it fetches that sentence for you. The ledger keeps everything, and you can copy it. What it does to a page is remembered: come back and the page is still the way it left it (“Original” shows the untouched page, “Mend page” forgets). “Keep a copy” saves its version of the page as a file you can open or send. Press Escape or “Remove crawler” to take it off the page.

Some sites forbid outside scripts and will block the crawler; it never sees passwords or forms and makes no network requests of its own. Text you read stays on your device.
